Dr Lisa James is an Ergonomics Consultant with a PhD in biomechanics and a Bachelor of Applied Science, with Honours, in Human Movement.
Lisa’s PhD investigated the effect of distractions on tripping risk in elderly populations. During her post-doctoral research, she investigated the effect of fatigue and other factors leading to increased tripping risk in elderly and neurological patients. She has also examined the use of various methods to reduce tripping risk, such as visual biofeedback and hybrid assisted limb (HAL) ankle exoskeleton. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals on these research areas.
Lisa has years of clinical experience as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. She is also an experienced academic educator, teaching biomechanics, anatomy and other subjects in clinical exercise and sport science at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys cycling and is an AusCycling accredited instructor. She also enjoys travelling, beach walks and generally being active outdoors.
With her research experience into tripping risks and her background in biomechanics, Lisa is a valuable member of the Dohrmann consulting team.
