Jon McGowan has spent spent 25 years as an Mechanical Engineer in the automotive research and development industry. Whilst in that industry Jon spent several years as an Health and Safety Representative and was part of a Global safety review board for incidents throughout the Asia pacific region, contributing to investigations for a wide range of industrial accidents and developing solutions for improved safety.
Jon has an undergraduate degree in aeronautical engineering and a Masters in civil Engineering together with trade qualifications in welding and light vehicle mechanics.
He holds a work safe high risk licence in Rigging and, having spent time working as structural welder on construction sites, has a deep understanding of the construction industry.
Jon is a registered professional engineer in Victoria and Queensland and an assessor for candidates applying for engineering registration for both state and national licencing.
Jon is licenced to certify vehicle modifications by both Victorian and Queensland state authorities and have expertise in vehicle emissions, suspension, driving dynamics and road safety.
With his extensive expertise, Jon strengthens Dohrmann Consulting’s capabilities by assisting with incident investigations and providing high-quality expert opinions. His contributions enhance our scope in delivering specialised engineering insights.
Jon’s main hobbies are working with metal and cars but he is also a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black belt and will occasionally play acoustic guitar. In amongst Jon’s many skills most of all he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 teenage children.
